It's normal for guys to cry and especially at your age. Younger dudes are normally not as used to girls being in their lives to the extent of relationships so it's usually a very emotional event in young people's lives. And the fact that it's something very personal to him makes there even a bigger reason to shed tears. I've even cried from seeing my girlfriend cry when I helped her out with her insecurities. It's a beautiful thing, and it can often make love more intense and stronger than ever. And to answer your question, you make him more than happy :)
Its probably a combination of things. First, the happiness he felt from the relief of telling anyone, then for his own girlfriend to accept it and him, it must have been killing him on the inside to keep it in and he was scared and nervous that you wouldn't accept it, but finding out that you do made him overjoyed.
Because he was being vulnerable with you and opening up (something most guys usually avoid) and the fact that you accepted him after that just means the world to him. He is being appreciative.
He is happy = he id relieved that you have accepted him.
