Does the concept of making a guy chase before and in relationship work?
Sometimes, it works because guys like challenge. In the old days, the male ancestors always fought wars and tried to achieve the impossible, which is why even when it comes to relationships, challenge turns them on either because of their sensitivity or their ego.
by the way, this is just a fun question. It was just an excuse to share the song and my another attempt of getting the question featured.

The fine balance I read is show yourself as a damsel in distress for their opinion and pass it off as a guys’ idea. Then as a woman you can’t show your talents otherwise you will intimidate them. However, if you are not polished and sophisticated in your appearances, you lose respect or potential. That’s actually meant for your confidence not to snag a man. It works there too. One slight step outside of being the good girl even a trivial one, will have you wondering why your man just stormed off ! Whilst being too sweet they take you for granted and actually think a girl is desperate. So what’s the real deal? No. And the vast majority of men will tell you this doesn't work. Never the less, women keep believing it. In my opinion, they believe it will work on men because they know it works on women. and they still don't quite believe that men are fundamentally different.

And lastly, if you find a guy that it does work on, all that means is that he values the chase more than the girl, and once he catches you, he'll be like a dog that catches a car. No clue what to do with it.

it also depends on the girl too. If she is the most imp to the boy then he'll become too much alert and will take a lot care to not to give any chance.

I used to not like it till I came to understand that the attitude is more of a shit test by the female to test the male's beta/alpha level.

A beta male with low confidence with turn tail and run when conversing with a bitchy attitude girl. That's ok because she doesn't want to waste her time with such a weak pussy of a man.

It's more about being young and insecure.
I think after we suffer through a few of those relationships some of us learn that there's a much easier road by pursuing relationships with people who are as equally interested in us and who are more on our level looks wise.
