Boyfriend doesn't give a shit financially about me?

So, I've always been independent financially. I always buy my boyfriend gifts or I pay the bill when we eat out. I fill up his gas even though he doesn't ask me to.

Now I recently became unemployed and i mention that i dont have money to spend out and he tells me " dont worry ill get my brother to buy me lunch"

without even asking if maybe I was hungry.

I hate that Im in this situation because i never realized that he doesn't really care if my gas is full, if i have enough money to eat.

Im reallu disgusted right now that im unemployed and he doesn't look out for me. Is it wrong to feel like he should? He is my boyfriend after all and I've never been one to ask him to buy me things. Im not high maintenace at all, but Im dissapointed right now

You've been told that it is rational to expect what you give away to be returned to you but it is not. That unsaid code of honor is worse than the teachings of satanism.

A millionaire gives you a million dollars. Later, the millionaire comes to you and wants the new car or the house that you bought with the money.
