How you make a man see you as “wife-material”?

Just curios, when u meet a girl or start dating her, is it “yes she is totally wife material” “I can see myself with her long term” or is it something that grows? 🤔
on the other hand, do u date her and maybe not see her as “quality” but later on the timeline u go to “wow yes I can see my future with her now” ?
Or can u go from “lol nah she just girlfriend material, nothing more “ to “nvm, she wify”

I'm an old guy, so maybe you don't care what I say, or think. I take a lot of time, just dating, getting to know her! I like going places, and seeing how she reacts, and I want her to suggest things she likes, and maybe she is testing me, too!! Talking, A LOT!! Personal things, and when I really like her, and maybe think she is the one, I play the 'Alternative Advocate' AKA "Devil's advocate" to see how she responds when I say things I TOTALLY Don't believe!!
Does she challenge me, and question, and argue? YES, PLEASE!! Or does she just go along, and not stand up for what she believes-Bye, BYE to that!!
I need her to like some things I like, but also bring in new things, that I don't know!! I want to learn and grow, and we should offer that to each other!

I can only speak for me. For me, when I would meet a girl, I would not bother dating her unless she was wife material. Not to say my plan was to get a wife with every date, but that my standards for a woman I would date, were the same as what they were for wife material. When dating, as time went on, she would either more, or less, fit into wife material, depending on what developed in the relationship and what was revealed in her character and personality. Again, this does not mean I was wife hunting with every girl I dated, just that the criteria for one, was the same as for the other.

I rememeber my first boyfriend in college said that to me.
Then my next boyfriend then became my husband. Also said that to me.
A few other guys as well... but I had no idea what they meant.

They all said I am wify material lol.. They saw how I was very loving/caring toward my family, and I also cared for my little sister throughout my teen/young adult life.
One who can take care of their offspring.

We are still quite primitive.
Man wants a wife (loving, caring)
Woman wants a husband (loyal, protective)

It's not universal. It depends on each individual person.

For me, it's her charachter. I look for genuine kindness and empathy. But today, I think it's very hard.

It's very difficult to compete with the other guys. Especially with social media and apps providing easy access to people who are very attractive. Even if your going for IRL connections, as you get to know each other over the weeks she could potentially be using an app to make plans to netflix and chill on the weekends with other guys. Which could be painful if you're not doing the same thing.

Well it's a really difficult decision. Also, a lot of the time a girl starts out one way and ends up another. In fact, I would say women are constantly changing. Maybe thats better.

Guys wanna feel like they're with someone who they can trust, a little like a hand-rail made of properly cemented stone. Your trustworthiness needs to be akin to the hardness of a diamond. lol

It's about simplicity, and enjoying each others company and knowing how to communicate before things get out of hand.

A guy rarely chances his opinion on things, particularly a girls character, and that's what we're talking about: a girls character. IF she is from a good family, cares about them, is mature, has good morals (and has always, i. e. no "hoe-phase"), and carries herself respectably/ supports him, and has her own goals she is wife material.
Otherwise it's just bs rhetoric a guy will use because she's really attractive, but if that's the case (and the guy is ghetto) he's not gonna marry her.

It's something that grows over time. Also depends on the guy and his views on marriage in general. I've never had those thoughts because marriage isn't a priority to me. I don't believe you have to be married to live happily ever after, nor does it say ANYTHING about how much I love her, or how serious I am about her. Doesn't mean I'll never do it, it's just not on my mind and something "I have" to do. But if she's my girlfriend, there's always the potential of "wife-material".

For me, the "Wife Material" thoughts are based on her character and personality, and usually are based around key questions like the following
1. Do we get along well and have common views etc.
2. Can I trust her, is she trustworthy?
3. Would she be a good mother?

I don't care too much about her past family life or career etc, not if she as a person is solid.
