How can I convince my boyfriend to stop vaping?

In my eyes, vaping is completely stupid unless you’re trying to quit smoking. In this case, my boyfriend picked up the habit of vaping just for the sake of it. I didn’t really care, but I know that there are risks associated and I’m sure that more and more research will come out about vaping in terms of the negative health consequences associated it. My boyfriend doesn’t see any issue, and I haven’t exactly brought it up, but I know that if I do he’ll think I’m being ridiculous and won’t take me seriously, but I care about him a lot and don’t want to see him get lung cancer or something in the near future. I dont need to be told that vaping is better than cigarettes or that vaping is harmless, because I’m sure it won’t be in the long run. How should I approach this in a way that he will be inclined to stop?

Do more research on the subject and get facts. At this point to think something he enjoys doing is ‘completely stupid’ isn’t going to land well with him. If indeed there is a legit medical reason then he needs to hear that from his doctor, not his girlfriend. So do more research on your own and see what the facts say about this relatively new American obsession. At this moment and based on how you feel you can’t convince him to stop.

Maybe go slow show him your concern first and not open with consequences. It’s baby steps sometimes some people can handle quitting and some can’t resist just show that you care and maybe work with him on it.
