- What do you think it means?
- How true is it? Why?
Admiration is only caused by opinion/personal belief, which cannot be separated from bias. Or it's not true because admiration requires a certain level of context, and most moral stances of admiration are standardized to a society or mass culture.
Hmm maybe it depends on the specific situation and its factors (ie how controversial it would be for someone to say they admire ___ and what for)
It can be. The mindless adulation that the Kardashians attract would certainly seem to provide a strong example of that.
However, it also doesn't need to correspond to a lack of understanding. There are plenty of people who are admired, either from nearby or afar, who demonstrate admirable qualities, which my first examples do not, lol.
True. When we admire something, we begin to see it in a light that makes it appear as if it can do no wrong, rather than understanding it for what it really is.
