I will never understand the appeal of an "open relationship". Even if we forget the fact that men get the shittiest end of the stick in open marriages, these "couples" are just "friends with benefits" living in denial and tied together by a piece of paper, not by love. Women have always required two things for their children: 1) strong genes to help those children survive 2) long term investment, help raising the children
That's "Alpha vs beta". "Lover vs provider". "Bad boy Vs nice guy". "CAD vs DAD". The "alpha/lover" is "hot", the "beta/provider" is "stable".
Ideally they want a guy to have the traits of both: a strong masculine personality, and the willingness to stick around and be a good father. In the West especially though with the culture being the way it is, men tend to be one or the other. Guys with both of those qualities are rare. That's why they call it the dual mating strategy.
With the open relationship, particularly the ones where the guy gets the short end of the stick as you say, she gets the "beta provider" boyfriend/husband while she's free to have sex with the more sexually exciting "alpha lover" types. That's what they're pushing for now.
@englisc Quite agreeable. Haven't read too much of Rollo himself, but have heard those ideas/analysis espoused in quite a few circles. I also think that the (dwindling) alpha-beta dichotomy in modern society is still only 50% of the issue. It would be one thing to have more strong, capable and sexually alluring men, but what is to be done with the quality control of the women? I've often thought of the true measure of an "alpha" is not in how far and wide he can spread his seed in iteself, but if he were so inclined, how many *high quality* women in both looks and character could he attract as potential longterm relationships?
If I use myself as an honest example, I've dated and mated a fair few "maidens" relative to my age, but not for the sake of being a manslut, I've often met girls who had potential, but proved themselves to be, frankly, worthless, beyond the usual ego-driven games and exploitations the harlots usually get up to. That's of course when I take my leave...

That's true. It is hard to find decent women, and there is no quality control there because of feminism. What feminism teaches women is to be self-entitled, and also to completely ignore what men want pretty much. So they grow up being taught that they're valuable just because they're women, they get thirsty guys constantly chasing them blowing up their egos.
They go for the "alpha" guys, but the alpha guys tend to be players, so they get pumped and dumped by them. They never realise that the reason they can't keep those guys around - the reason those girls couldn't keep you around - is because they don't have much else to offer those guys than sex, and they don't have the self-awareness to figure that out. Instead like many men, many of their beliefs are based on ego-defence, as in "I'm perfect, he's in the wrong, it's his loss" etc. They refuse to acknowledge their own flaws, and society discourages them from doing so anyway. All of society backs them up on this.
Only very few of them properly understand it, and yeah those women are becoming harder and harder to find as we see more and more of this bullshit.
The stuff about Rollo, I'm not sure exactly what went on there, both him and Anthony Johnson seem a little dodgy to me. Each of them basically wanted to be seen as "leaders" of the manosphere, and that's what that whole thing was about. But still, even if I don't particularly like him as a person Rollos work on inter-sexual dynamics is mostly good.

It's not a large enough sample size to draw conclusions from, and even then it was barely half the women she surveyed. They were in sexless orgasmless marriages.
