Have you come across someone who genuinely does good things for people and feels their pain, helps them out and values friendships. Yet that same person has no capacity for love, they don't understand why love is and what it is, they give no importance to love and do not seem to have the ability to romantically attach themselves to anyone. They seem to never have had any attachment to their parents and siblings, they felt nothing at the death of their own father. It's as if they don't have the ability to emotionally differentiate their own father from an unknown and random person...

This is how I have always been, disconnected from everything else like there is an invisible barrier between me and everyone else, as if they are just out of my reach for some reason, and as someone who takes deep interest in human behavior, not being able to understand why I seem to not have any capacity for love makes me really curious

Im a lot lot what you described, but I don't think im heartless because I like helping people when I can. I also want to find a partner to love and cherish just like anyone else.
In fact im quite empathetic towards people, I can see myself in their situation clear as day and help them with their problems.

Your situation can be cured. I always knew how I was supposed to feel and acted on that. I've developed many emotions in the last two years. And I even feel love recently. Apathy was more comfortable, but I don't regret beginning to feel.

Come across? Well I might have but I don't remember. However, there are a few similarities here with me. That is because I am also a person who is very logical, rational , conceptual. Hence in my view such people are not really heartless but it is that they are very logical, rational kind of people who don't dwell in emotions and feelings and so they are very quick to move on. About you mentioning people who never felt anything even when their father died, so such for people life and death is something that is normal, I mean so what if it was their father even he had to die one day and so what if they loved them death is a fact and just because their father died that person doesn't stop living their life because they are still alive.

They think like that hence they move on quickly.
