How would I make you feel?
Say it’s been years or even a decade since you talked. Maybe you were their first relationship. What if they contacted you out of the blue and told you that they were proud and happy with how things turned out for you. How would you take it?
I’m Facebook friends with some of my exes and there’s a couple who I feel admiration for. Not in a “I want her back” sort of way. For example one of my exes has kids (I think she’s a great mother) and became an rn recently. That made me really happy when I saw that and I was proud of her. She’s just one example.
Sometimes I want to tell an ex that I’m happy about who she became and that I think she’s doing really well. But I never do because I don’t want it taken the wrong way. I don’t want them to think I’m being sarcastic or trying to get back with them. I just feel like they deserve to hear it.
