I despise open relationships. I think they are disgusting and degrading. Yet any time I say this in a related question, I get told that I'm "bitter" and "jealous" or that I'm "old fashioned". So you admit having respect for yourself and your partner is "old fashioned"?
How come it isn't wrong to despise murderers and you don't get called jealous or bitter when speaking about that, but you do with this? I don't understand. I was always a monogamous dater my whole life. When I first started dating I refuse to marry or date someone who was not a virgin. I became more open but still only dated one girl at a time. Several cheating on me. What's a years later I am still single. That is what's wrong with monogamous dating.
Sex was meant to be preserved for the confines of marriage. If a person decides to ignore this, they open the door for a high probability of creating a broken relationship. Broken hearts, Broken Dreams, broken Futures, broken families.
This Brokenness is not okay and what makes it worse is all the time that's wasted creating the broken situation. If a person is going to be experimenting with love, it should be done without wasting precious time and life force. The only way to do this is to either get married or have an open relationship. Anyone pushing for an open relationship without commitment of marriage is lying to themselves and others. That is not monogamy its serial monogamy. Serial monogamy is wrong.
No woman that is not willing to say "I do" is worth being faithful to.
Social media and technology has made people insecure and mentally fight each other to look the best and have the best life possible. Today, all that matters are good looks and having a lot of followers. This is the time of seeking VALIDATION. During the 1700s it was the time of seeking innovation and science, the end of the middle ages was the time of seeking peace and national pride. As long as the modern human has thousands of sexual partners, a million followers on social media and a thousand friends, they are considered successful. It`s really sad and I agree with you. All those "old" values are not considered beautiful anymore. In the early days, after the plagues and wars, people started to appreciate nature, love and knowledge. Those were the happy times. Then the industrial revolution came, and new technology came. People wanted to live easier and make the most money in stead of enjoying life in the countryside. Then they preyed on each other.
That`s my theory on how all this evolved. I hope it`s just a phase of the human psyche. I find it tragic, and I am far from proud of this era.
It's not wrong to feel that way. Heck, I completely agree with you: I am completely against open relationships! They're just an excuse for people to sleep around without committing to one person.

Yeah it's their right to do so... but that doesn't mean we have to agree with their lifestyle. Just like we have a right to want a monogamous, closed relationship.

It's not wrong, and the truth is, the vast majority of people, even if they THINK the idea is attractive, couldn't handle one in real life. Open relationships are really something only a very small percentage of the population ever does, and even among them, it oftentimes doesn't work.
in my opinion, the real problem is that you are around people who are pushing very niche ideologies into the mainstream, with no grounding in reality, and making it seem like YOU are the crazy one, when in reality, YOU are the normal one. And once you realize that, you'll probably realize that they say a lot of other crazy, irrational, not-grounded-in-reality stuff too. Much as cults often do, they use a technique of making THEM seem like the wise and rational people, and YOU like the ignorant or crazy person, when, really, there's a (badly) hidden agenda that they're pushing, and they're acclimating you to accepting their "truth" without questioning. Only once you are an obedient pod person do they reveal their full agenda, knowing you will follow without question.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. However not liking and calling other people things because they don't have a problem with that type of relationship or are in that relationship is different. You expect to say those things and not get an equally heated response. You are entitled to your opinion and so are they, and I'm sure a lot of people have the opinion that you judge them simply because you do not understand and that your an idiot. That's how life works. You can have your opinion, but I would expect to hear responses to it as well. If you don't like other people's opinions, you shouldn't be on this app to begin with.
You are not alone. Though we may have difference of opinions in certain topics i agree with you on open relationships. To me if you are in a committed relationship you have given your word to stand by that one person in many aspects of life just as in marriage. If you can not keep your word then don't get into a committed relationship at all. Stay single and sleep around. Its basically what you are doing anyway. Anyone into open relationships is either #1 afraid of commitment #2 one to get bored easily #3 in an agreement with their hoe of a partner to go along with this type relationship because having part of the one you love is better than completely losing them to someone else
We're in 2020. People don't want any responsibilities or bond, they want freedom to fuck whoever they want, being loyal is a thing of the past. We'll have to get used to it, we'll slowly have to realize we can't have our partner, we'll have to share it with other people.
And you see how people react to it. As sad as that makes me, we live in a time when people want to have, as we say here, "the butter, the money for the butter, and dairywoman's ass". They want the benefits of a relationship, without the responsibilities. Worst, they see that as freedom, especially women who consider it as empowerment the fuck other guys than their partner. And if he disagrees, they find it even more empowering to do it anyway.
I’ve yet to meet anyone in an open relationship. I don’t think they are a thing. I think it’s just one person who isn’t really into the other, so both can do as they please, should the opportunity arise. If I wanted to do that, I’d call it being free and single.
I think what is fantastic about your opinion is that you are the younger generation and this is I would think an older generation preference. So the younger generation says show us just one person, just one that does not believe in open relationships and I might take into account having a relationship with two just people. You are that one person and there is power in that.

I just want one Girl or Woman to be special in my life, I don't want to be with multiple females at once I have nothing but bad luck, they try to scam me or are just looking to get money off of me which I do not have, the last girl lost my class-ring now that was precious to me since my Grandparents purchased it for me
My theory is that people are so bored and need instant gratification on demand without effort or trying to battle things out and work hard for it: i. e relationships because life is so much easier. Thus there's a growing lack of respect for traditional values

I have seen polyamorous relationships work (though they’re not for me), but an actual open relationship where you bang anyone you want is not a relationship at all in my opinion.
People like what they like, have all kinds of fetishes and fantasies. If you aren't hurting anyone, I don't see why it matters. If a couple chooses to have sex with people outside their relationship, whether it's a one way or both ways, it's no one's business. If someone isn't okay with it, or doesn't like it, that's okay too. To each their own.
