Bestfriend turned long term boyfriend not in love anymore?

My boyfriend and I have been together since school, and it's been 4 years now and have a long distance relationship since I go to college in a different city. We were bestfriends earlier. But from the last 2 years now whenever we have a big fight he blocks me and avoids talking to me for at least 2 weeks and even a month sometimes. Why is he acting like this? He used to make extra efforts earlier to solve an issue but now he just let's it go and prefers to stay away when we fight. Does he not love me anymore? And may have someone else who he talks to when we don't talk and fight?

That's the issue. We have a serious conversation about it all the time. He apologises and gets really sad for acting out. But keeps on blocking me everytime we have an argument.

We mostly fight about being rude to each other. But this time we fought because I wanted to meet up but due to the pandemic he refused saying that it's dangerous for me since I usually fall sick quickly even though I told him I'll be okay
