Do guys ever miss a girl they rejected or regret it?

I have a friend that we were texting for almost a few months, rejected me. He did it in a very odd way. He basically talked in a sexual manner at the start of the conversation just to turn around and say that he is too old for me and that we work together. That he was going on a date that night. I told him I wish he'd let me make him happy and I know I could if he'd let me. He told me romance is not for us, I'd get hurt, and it would never happen between us. He said that we'd still be friends just no cuddling or sexual stuff. I wished him a good day and luck on his date...

That was 2 weeks ago. I miss him terribly. But... I'm not sure if I should be the one to reach out to him. I'm assuming if he missed me, would he not reach out to me? I figured if I heard nothing by Christmas, I'd test the waters of our friendship and wish him a good one. Is that a bad idea or should I just... wait and see if he'll ever come back on his own. I'm trying to have patience but... it's so hard. I cared a lot about him.

The guy has politely told you NO. Leave it at that and don't humiliate yourself by chasing after him. He told you he was dating someone else. How much more straightforward and honest could he have been. You were an interest when he had no one else to talk to or go out with. He decided that you were inappropriate for him and kissed you off. He does not miss you or regret calling it off because if he did he would be DATING YOU, not someone else.
Forget about this guy and move on. It hasn't been so long that you're heartbroken. Find someone who fits. You're young and it's easy to do.
