Whenever we have a disagreement my boyfriend shuts down. If I try to talk to him about the issue he won't respond, if I ask him a general question he might give me an answer but he will do so with a nasty tone of voice. I need to know the best way to respond to this behavior. I don't get the feeling that he is doing it because he simply doesn't want to talk at the moment, but rather he is trying to punish me.
