I care for my disabled mother I don’t have the time to go through pregnancy or raise a child. Pregnancy would restrict the things I have to do to care for my mum and a child definitely would take up way too much of my time and would get in the way. Plus I just don’t want kids yet, I’m 22 and I have so much more I want to experience of life without a little brat by my side
If you couldn't handle a "Brat"? now you probably wouldn't want a little brat later either. I'd love to have a couple of kiddos myself and time is not on my side.
@daniela1982 Probably not, I’ve spent the majority of my life looking after people. I also pretty much helped raise my 6 year old brother because his dad walked out when he was a newborn. Adding a third person to a list of people I have to care for would drive me to insanity.
Doesn't sound like you have been able to take much time off for just you. Does your mother have Medicare or Medacaid? Those should help pay for in home care. And sometimes your only choice is to put them in a care home. That or have a break down of your own which would help neither of you.
I’m not sure what that is and I wouldn’t put her in a home anyway. She’s only 44 and her disabilities are just issues with walking and lifting things, also my little brother is autistic and relies on her a lot emotionally so he definitely would not be able to handle her not being home he would spiral without her. I don’t mind looking after her, all I have to do is help her around the house and push her wheel chair around the shops. She just got a mobility scooter so that helps a lot. I feel like I owe her because I got seriously sick as a child and she was by my side through that, I’d much rather be her carer than let anyone else do it :)
I’m honestly okay with the way my life is right now, my mum is like my best friend and I’m more than happy to be her carer. I just mean that if a baby was added into the mix then that would definitely be too much for me to handle. I honestly don’t plan on having kids anytime soon anyway, I’m definitely not mentally or emotionally mature enough for that yet lol

Oh, guess I didn't know she was that young, Does she have MS or something?
She has fibromyalgia, metatarsal adductus, Morton’s neuromas, she has a slipped disc in her back, arthritis
Holy cow! All that and only 44? She seems to have had a rough life.
Yep! She had some of the conditions since birth but she injured her back a few years ago and it triggered them and it just went down hill from there 😨
Abort! Abort!
