What does it mean when people say you would make a good couple with someone?

Me and this guy I know. I have recently started to like him. Literally everyone, both his friends, my friends and just random people have all said we'd be "good together" or would be "so cute together" or would be a "beautiful couple." His best friend said I'd be "really good for (his name.)" What do they mean by this? I don't know him that well but just like the look of him. Are they saying our personalities are compatible or that our looks suit eachother or something else?

people in general don't think so much of how other people will fit in a couple, so most are probably just being nice about it, encouraging you to give it a shot.
