Boyfriend has dating app on phone?

So my boyfriend of 3 years and I were in the car a few days ago, and when he asked me to put on a song on his phone, I accidentally saw that he has a dating app on his phone. I did not open the app. I didn't ask him about it then because there were other people in the car as well and I haven't seen him since, but I am now kinda curious why he would have that. I mean, could it be that he has such an app as like a dare or something with friends? Or could you think of other reasons why someone would have a dating app?

Ofcourse I know I should talk to him about this when I see him next, but I don't want to be too judgmental. I mean, it could be nothing right?

So basically my question is: are there any other reasons why my boyfriend would have a dating app on his phone?

by the way, I haven't checked the app so I don't know if he actually has an account or not

Presumably, to meet women. Don't rush to judgement- that does NOT mean he's cheating. He might've downloaded it and never used it, just not bothering to remove it from his phone. He might've used it, but stopped (I'm guessing he didn't meet you through it, or you'd know why he has it) when he started dating you. He might be holding off on deleting it until your relationship is more firmly set (you probably wouldn't think that's the case after three years, but inertia's funny that way), or he might not be thinking about it. If you're concerned, talk to him about it.

Sure there are other reasons the same way im pretty sure some pay for prostitutes just so they can talk but I'm pretty sure its unlikely
