If your past friends with benefits said to you, that they miss you. Would you believe it?

So my past ex friends with benefits/Lover has return. Yes, part of me is super Excited!! and Happy on the inside. But part of me, is like. 🤔😳😩😭🤚. He just wants (SOME). But anyways, he message me around 11a. m in the morning yesterday. Then message me 2a. m and 3 a. m. this morning. But we was talking earlier this morning. And he randomly says how he misses me. He always Justice when he wants something from me, but when I ask him. Do you really miss me, he tells me. Like he hasn't brought up sex to me or anything, and he hasn't asked to me see, just yet. Now, remind you guys, him and I have a lot of history it's been 8 years now, that we have been knowing each other. But never once a commitment relationship, just sex and a friendship. But when the question was asked to him just last year, if he was ever going to commit himself to me. He didn't say yes and he didn't say no. He basically said, Well when the moment that I was trying to move closer to you or get close to you. How I was always involved with a guy or seeing another guy. That's BS! but!! Ok. Anyways. Him and I have had our moments the good and the bad and crazy and ugly. And there has been times that we drifted apart. But no matter where we go and what happens, we always connect again, and return back to each other. But my thing is, we never dated nor went out on any real dates. He tells me how he has a lot of love for me and I tell him to the same. But if he's somewhat interested in dating me, then why hasn't he done and what's stopping him. And also when he tells me he misses me can he really miss me, like is he genuine when he tells me this. Or is he talking crap and on some BS? 🤔🤦😏
