My boyfriend says he still loves me but lost feelings?

Recently my boyfriend told me that his feelings have changed and that he no longer feels like he used to in the beginning of our relationship. In our relationship, we never had a big argument and I felt like it was going so great. Until one day he told me whilst crying that his feelings are different now. We broke up. The very next day, he talked with me and apologised that he was being stupid and still loves me but his feelings are still confused and don't know why he is feeling this way?
We keep exchanging text messages but it's more like I make the most efforts as he only replies after 4/7 hours sometimes. I meet him up but only once a week as we are both busy at work.
He also says that he needs time to think and doesn't want to lose me
What should I do? Do I wait for him or just tell him it's over? it's really heartbreaking cus I still do very much love him :(

Relationships need to be nurtured to stay new and alive. Most people feel they don't need to do anything once the relationship is established, but then it just deteriorates.

He says he still loves you. Ask him what he loves about you. When we focus on specifics, it tends to be easier to nurture and enhance those aspects. Talking about vague general aspects just leaves us feeling confused and empty.

He says he needs time to think. Ask him what he's been thinking about and how that thought process is going for him. He says he doesn't want to lose you. Ask him what aspects of you he would miss the most if you weren't in the picture and how those aspects tend to impact him.

You can share these specifics with him, also. Specifics make things more real and meaningful. Unfortunately, most people choose to remain vague and general, as then they can't be held accountable for anything. Just pay attention to what you hear around you, and you'll see how common it is. After seeing a movie, a person is asked, "how was the movie?" The response is generally "I liked it." What is "it?" Is it the movie in general being mentioned or some aspect of the movie? On the other hand, we can ask, "What about the movie impacted you the most, and how did it impact you?" With specifics, we gain deeper understanding of how people are affected by their experiences. That allows us to come up with alternatives we see as similar and might also have that impact. This knowledge fuels our creativity and our ability to keep the relationship new and alive.

Thank you, I will ask him next time I see him face-to -face but yea maybe he just got bored after the honeymoon phase of our relationship

Don't give up, but give him time. You want him to stay with you because he wants to, not because he is obligated to or feels like he was forced to.

The honeymoon phase is over. That’s what he’s referring to. This will happen in every relationship. He’s going to have to learn to identify and work through it.

If you really love him try to give him a chance but if you don't feel loved, that's a red flag.
