That’s a really tough one. I suppose if she asked for forgiveness I’d be obligated to forgive her. Scripture gives many lessons about us forgiving others and how can we ask God for forgiveness and not be willing to forgive ourselves?


That’s not to say it wouldn’t cause major damage to the relationship. That’s not to say I’d forgive and everything would be like it never happened. There would be major changes to the relationship after that point. That’s not to say just a mere “oops I’m sorry” indicates the person is truly sorry and wants to be forgiven. This is not about being a dope and licensing your wife to act in such a vile and repugnant manner with no check in place. An apology or contriteness wouldn’t fix everything. I’m just saying I think we’re obligated to forgive when asked regardless of the sin committed against us and if we ask and want God to forgive us, we must do likewise to others.


However if my wife in such a circumstance was not sorry, did not want to be forgiven or planned to continue the affair then I suppose I’d give her space to repent and if she didn’t I’d end the marriage.

And file for a court order to have her evicted from the premises.
