Is being a faithful man a waste of time?

I'm wondering if it's worth being a faithful man. I had to go on a long business trip for 10 months. I told my girlfriend that I'll try coming back earlier. While on the trip, I was earning 3x more and saving it. Part of the money was spent on my surprise gift for her. I've manage to convince my manager to be excused early. I came back after slightly over 6 months.

I found out she cheated practically the whole time I was away. There was my surprise and I had to take another flight, go back to that jewelry store and return it. Honestly, do girls generally like faithful men or not much? I'll never get back 4 years of my life wasted.

Trust is sort of like financial credit. Imagine if you were worth millions but you started walking around town giving large loans to random people based on how good their smile is or how big their tits are. How long would it be before you were broke since the people you gave loans to either can't pay you back or don't want to? But if you carefully chose people based on their ability to work, keep their promises and started out with small loans instead of big ones, you'd do way better, right? You gave this woman a huge line of credit based, probably, on nothing but her appearance and ideas in your head. You didn't pay attention to the signs that she was disloyal. No way did she only start cheating on you the day you left town. More like she was cheating on you from the 1st few months you knew her.

So let's re-phrase your question.. is loaning money a waste of time? The answer depends on if you're the founder of Bank of America/Chase or if you're just a guy who is blinded by love. Those banks use objective measurements instead of feelings. You can use objective measurements too... like "did she lie when she said X", "did she flirt with that dude?" "Did she dress like a total whore to supposedly go visit her elderly grandma? Why would she do that?" And so on.

I'm not gonna lie and tell you that the percentage of women out there who are a good catch is high. But to get them you also need to be a good catch. Check out my MyTakes.

Dude. I'm gonna tell you a story. I knew a girl. We'll call her Hannah. Gorgeous, funny, charismatic, intelligent. She was a part of our friend group for short while. Hannah had a boyfriend in the Marines. I knew she had a boyfriend in the Marines. Her friend knew she had a boyfriend in the Marines. But Hannah? She didn't quite get the memo. From the VERY first night we went out she tried really hard to out drink me, ended up throwing up (with me holding her hair back) as she bent over my toilet and then after like 2 of this I set her up with blankets and stuff in my bathroom in case she need to puke again. She spent the rest of the night trying to fuck me. I didn't let her because I respected her relationship and wasn't okay with having sex with someone who was taken. The next weekend she came over, knew how I had maintained self control the last time we hung out and so she sort of ignored me the whole night and ended up fucking my roommate. In some ways I feel like I missed out on being that girl. In other ways I feel like I dodged a bullet. Either way though, next time, I'm not too sure I'm going to respect a girl's relationship if she doesn't respect it herself.

But it is not just some women doing this.
It's about character, not gender.
Throughout history men have cheated more. In many countries it is still even socially acceptable for only men to be allowed to cheat, and have regular have mistresses.

Just because this one cheated, doesn't predict future partners. You can be hopeful. You deserve better.

It honestly upsets me when I hear stories like that. How come we became so inslaved by our own desires that we are willing to distroy a good relationship with someone we claim to love?

I was talking to a guy the other day, he was going on and on about how much he loves and trusts his wife. Then he mentioned that a bunch of guys were going to work at a camp for few weeks and it's good money. I told him that he should go, and he replied "No way, I'm not leaving my wife alone, while the cat is away, the mice will play." Apparently she cheated on him before, but he only trusts her when he can keep an eye on her.
So that's pretty much the reality of marriage and trust. Take what you will friend m that, lol.

Yeah, these days slut culture is pretty popular, and it doesn't take much for wives to cheat.
I encounter a lot of married women online who are looking for an affair basically. They don't come right out and say that, but they flirt and keep taking things further and further. Some of them actively pursue an affair.

The lesson you should take away from this is NOT... don't be faithful to a love.
It should be: DO NOT HAVE LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS. If you are bailing for 10 months than 1 of you should have had the balls to just end it when you left.

That really sucks. being in a committed relationship requires trust and a bit of faith. It can be devastating to get chested on. I think that when it goes well it can be awesome. Not everyone is a cheater.

I can't think of what I did to get cheated on for many months; not just once or twice but multiple times. My proposal was my surprise to her but oh well. I always wanted a family.

Sorry this happened to you. I think loyalty is important to have. My hubby goes away a lot but I’m use to it. I also know that he needs to know that he don’t have to worry about my loyalty. I’m constantly changing into an even better person and growing. Trust, loyalty, and communication gotta be consistent.
