My sister's boyfriend tried to slap her during an argument. She applied what she learned long ago. She intercepted it before it even had a chance to reach her face. This shocked him. Fortunately she knows self-defense.

She broke up and he's been begging her. She still cares for him but Is wondering if it's over for good or should be given final/last chance? Even if a girl can defend herself, isn't an attempted hit enough to call it quit?

You guessed on your very last sentence. She took 2 martial arts; Krav Maga and then BJJ (Brazilian jiu jitsu). She's not taking him back. She does still cares and loves him though. She'll maybe consider it if he seeks help and works on himself but doesn't believe in his apology at this moment.

It's her decision and it sounds like she's made it. If it was a one-time thing and he shows no other anger tendencies, she might want to reconsider. If this was an indication of how he normally is, then it's time to move on.

Hitting is never justified, although in some limited circumstances, it might be forgiven.

Actually prior to that he used to yell at her sometimes or call her every single she went out, demanding her to call him every 30 mins, demanding at what time she comes back; controlling.

Yes fortunately she knows martial arts. She isn't convinced at this moment and isn't taking him back. But she still cares for him. She suggested him to seek help and work on himself. She wants to make sure His begging isn't just talk and no actions.

well i would sure end it over that. voilence is not a good way to solve conflict in a relationship. and if your partner resorts to that, it's not your duty to educate him for the better. that's his own job, he can do on his own.
