I feel dumb help?

I met this guy he's a bit older than me but he's very articulate and so intelligent, uses big words and I feel stupid cause when we are texting I have to Google some of these words lol.

I don't know I feel like I'm too stupid for him. He's so smart and works as a disability advocate. He was talking about the ADA. I had no clue what that was... I feel so stupid?

Don't put yourself down.
It seems to be the latest thing nowadays to use only initials instead of the name.
You see it constantly on TV ads now, the say the name once, then it is are you suffering from ABC, they use xyz to cure your ghb...
Just because someone uses different words to say the same thing as you use doesn't make them a better person than you.
They may have been raised in an environment where that was common.
My mother was an English teacher, so our grammar was always being corrected.
I will see posts here that make me cringe, but that was because of how we grew up.
That does not make me a better person than they are, or they are not as smart.
They may have other talents that they excel at that I can not come close to doing.
If you don't understand what he is saying either as for a meaning on that word, or look it up.
Then you will know what it means and you can add it to your vocabulary.
Remember, we should learn something new everyday.

In his case, ADA is the Americans with Disabilities Act. He's a disability advocate, so this would be very normal for him to discuss.

It prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in several areas, including employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications and access to state and local government’ programs and services.

Several of the provisions in the act are very vague.
The one that usually comes to mind (to me, anyway), is the "reasonable accommodation" provision- a business must make "reasonable accommodations" for an otherwise appropriate worker for a position able to have access to, and be able to function in, a given job. ref ADA. covThink of a few topics in which YOU have the knowledge and then you can talk about your topics as well. ADA is a programming language

Just because you do not know fancy words does not mean that you’re dumb. Maybe his interests are different from yours, and that’s okay. On the brighter side, you’re learning new words! You can always improve your vocabulary by reading more books.

Try to learn more about his interests, do some research on it and start a discussion regarding it. Talk to him about your interests too.. what do you like to do?
