Why do people think that friendship between woman and man is not possible?

From my experience, I’ve had to cut off most of my guy friends because I found out they only wanted to be friends so there’d be a chance I’d eventually sleep with them. Not even assumptions or projections. I had two guy friends that told people I had a threesome with them. Like wtf? And when I friend-zoned others, they stopped talking to me. The guys I’m friends with now, I only hang out with them in a group. The only exception is if they’re gay. I would love to have a guy best friend to hang alone with, but unfortunately it doesn’t happen with me. Not saying all men are like that, but I’ve never had a guy hang out with me 1on1 without them pushing boundaries.
