Is getting cheated on really the worst emotional pain in a relationship?

I've heard people saying that. Do you really think that's the worst emotional pain in a relationship? Or can a partner emotionally hurt you in worse ways? Worse than cheating?

My ex boyfriend did worse than just cheating:

- Faking the entire relationship, a future and even our initial friendship too

- Using me for money too; scamming me with over $1,200

- Finding out he used my money (he never paid back) on other women

- Finding out he was after my parents' and grandma's property

It depends.

I've been cheated on and it hurt.

I've been lied to about my partner's immigration status (he never kept up the process and tried to just have me drive him over the border illegally without knowing), and that hurt.

For me they both pretty much hurt the same. A lot.

Because the root was the same: dishonesty, lies, and cowardice.

Exactly. By doing that, those cowardly men make us waste our time, time we would've spent it with someone else, with someone decent. I would've probably already been married with kids; a life he cheated me out of.

I'm not too bitter. I did also choose to stay with them both despite other non-cheating and non-lying red flags.

I had to learn. And now I have.

Now I know never to date cishet white men.

Nope not at all honestly. By the time I got into a relationship where I was cheated on, the whole thing was just torturous nightmare and one of the most toxic experiences of my life. By the time I found out she cheated I was relieved honestly. By that time I was over the whole situation, so when I found out and I felt nothing about it... then I realized I was over it way before it happened and it gave me closure.

Yes, especially if they tricked one into caring and then didn't mean anything, Cheater !!

At that moment I was hurt in every single way. I was shocked that I didn't think there can be men out there using a woman for money too; a golddigger, unbelievable.
I don't know if I'm suppose to be hurt that he cheated with other women the whole time or that he faked the whole entire relationship, that everything was a lie and he was using me for money too.

Come to think about it, if a fake a whole relationship, a future (lying about wanting marriage and kids) and continue using you... I think that's cheating too.

Sometimes. People suck. It's hard not letting one screwball... not mess up later relationships. Maybe some counseling would be helpful. I don't know...
