Do you think women cheat more or men? Why? Can you show actual evidence or sources?

We all just recently arrived on an active duty army base for our out-processing from deployment.

A friend of mine got on his Bumble app and had sex with a woman who is married to a soldier in or around this base.
I can’t remember if he said that the woman and man are divorced fully or are going through the process of divorcing one another.

The worst thing for me is for my woman to cheat on me, not tell me, and for me to find out years later.

I can’t begin to tell you the level of anger I would feel.

I’d say it’s about equal. I was in the navy for five years and have seen and encountered several male colleagues cheat on wives/girlfriends back home, I’ve been the girl they tried to cheat with (I had no interest in any of the males on my ship and often got labeled either a lesbian or a bitch) and I’ve watched women friends who were also sailors get fucked over and lied to by both Marines and fellow sailors who had sweethearts back home. I’m not saying you or your friends fit that description OP, so don’t get me wrong.

Of course female service members aren’t always any better in some cases and same can be said about the S/O’s.

I think you mentioned before one of your "friends" cheated on his wife as well.

At tech school people were cheating on their spouses, girlfriends, and boyfriends.

I've been OCONUS my whole career and I've seen a lot cases where men cheat on their spouses. Especially in Korea. My co-worker's wife cheated on him while he was here, but he was doing some questionable activities himself.

A friend of mine got pregnant. The guy was army. He lied spouted a bunch of pillow talk, but turns out he was cheating on her the whole time. Now she's a single mom and he just separated.

So I see mostly men, but I'm surrounded by mostly men so that's probably why.

I don' care how much people cheat in general. I care about whether MY partner cheats. I have had that happen twice in 51 years of dating and relationships. Yes, it brings out the worst urges in me.

Like women cover up their tracks. Delete pics , messages, apps off their phone, don't spend at obvious places like bar, restaurants, hotel, plan the proper times to go out so it doesn't seem sketchy.
Men do these things also but don't do them as well as women do so they end up getting caught..

It’s probably pretty close to even. The average woman has more options than the average man, and women’s sexual liberation has changed the way we view their promiscuity. So it probably just seems like women cheat more to those of us who remember the “before”.

I think it's about even, personally. I know women cheat more in the workplace, and are more likely to have an "emotional affair," but I've seen many examples of men cheating simply out of sexual desire.

I think women are less likely to talk about it, guys tend to 'brag' a little more to their friends. Women often won't even tell their friends, cause they never know when a friend might turn into a enemy.

I have no clue who does it more, because its not like anyone is going to admit to it.

Although if a wife gets pregnant by someone else, often her husband is on the hook for child support and that part really sucks if you ask me.

Yes women cheat more. You see more posts about women cheating all the time and not many posts from men. You also hear more stories of women cheating all the time. You go on porn sites and you see more titles of women cheating and not so much for guys. Also women have the power to sleep with a lot of guys and when they get the temptation they cheat. Any girl can go out and find a guy and get laid within the same day. They just have more power to cheat then most guys.

both sides are likely to cheat at roughly the same rate if they don't have their needs or desires meet by their partner regularly. weather they end up cheating with a short term fling or long term affair depends on their own situation. males tend to be caught more often due to verses reasons though.

I'll sum up the link Smashingdoozy posted. Bottom line is that it depends on age. Before age 30 women cheat slightly more than men. Between age 30 and 50 men cheat about 3% more than women.
