We’ve been together almost 2 years. We talked about marriage pretty early, around 6 months into dating when things got more serious and we were both on the same page about wanting to get married to one another. We’ve been living with each other for almost 8 months now. The wait is driving me insane! We’ve gone ring shopping twice and looked online for rings multiple times. Last valentines days was approaching and a small package arrived at the house and he said “don’t open it. You’ll be so mad that you ruined your surprise” so of course I thought it was a ring! Nope it was a necklace, which was really cute.
He even teased me about how much was in his bank account and how he bought a really big purchase recently. But then a few weeks later he was like “you really believed that? That was obviously a joke.” Now he is telling me that I can’t go on his phone because he might have pictures of rings saved.
His entire family wants him to marry me and constantly teases him about it. He tells me “we are basically married but without the ring.”
We have had a lot of conversations about it. We have come to the conclusion that it probably won't happen for another year or so. So I asked him for a promise ring and he said that there is no point of getting me a promise ring if he is going to propose in a few months. He’s playing with me and he knows it! He’s definitely keeping me on the edge of my seat and I can’t stand it. The thought of when it’s going to happen is beyond my intuition at this point. Lmao, I know I’m impatient. I just don’t like surprises.
