Am the asshole for leaving my girlfriend in my apartment alone?

So my roommate and I both work first shift. We both usually leave around 5AM at the same time. Well last night my girlfriend spent the night and I usually drop her off at her house on my way to work but this time she drove herself because she also had to leave early in the morning for drill. She left at 6AM so she was in my apartment alone for roughly an hour only. When I got home the front door was locked and everything was as I left it in the morning. Well my roommate gets home and asked me if I left her in the apartment alone this morning. I said yes but because she was leaving early too. He said that he doesn’t want me to leave her alone anymore because he doesn’t feel comfortable leaving someone who doesn’t live there unattended. My girlfriend and I have been together for 5 years and my roommate has known her since the very beginning. She never did anything to get that reaction out of him before. Like steal or leave a mess. She doesn’t come over all the time so it’s not like she’s mooching off us. Am I in the wrong for leaving her alone?
P. s. my roommate also had a problem with her taking a showers there once and it started an argument because she doesn’t pay bills there even though she only showered there twice ever

I think he might be worried about her stealing or snooping around in his items or maybe he views her as a sexual temptation that he is trying to resist and feels guilty for viewing her that way, you’re not a bad person for leaving an adult alone for one hour to fend for themselves, he has other reasons for being upset that he does not feel comfortable telling you.

Your flat mate is correct. Regardless of how long you've known her, you are introducing an unnecessary risk. Look how many couples that have been together for many years... have no idea who they truly are. If anything did happen, the only one having to deal with the problem would be the flatmate. if you don't want to have these considerations then getting your own place is the solution, otherwise you need to consider his concerns.

That seems a little bit rough, but I think you should just explain your side of things and stay calm. Maybe he was in a bad mood, hard to say. Perhaps a nice dinner that she and yourself prepare for all three of you would be nice? It would be a good way to break the ice.

Your roommate has good points. He does live there too. He’s probably worried it’s going to become a regular thing. He’s speaking up before it does.

You're not the asshole, you've known her 5 years, he has known her for just as long, if she cannot be trusted for an hour, it's his problem not yours. Your situation is exactly why I avoided roommates after my first one. Too restrictive.
