How would you define cheating?

Have you cheated or been cheated on before?

The internet makes it seem pretty common, with numerous couples cheating on each other. Statistically, it seems like it could be anywhere from 20 to 80 percent of people cheating at least once before. The US being the most unfaithful country apparently (71%).

What has been your experience?

If a cheating woman is ready to break up with you then I think this is the phase where she's lining up the new guys without you knowing or already talking to the next guy. A cheating woman covers her cheating by still pretending to care and be interested in you before she breaks it off.

Sometimes she will suddenly be more interested in you then ever, making more eye contact, talking to you more leading up to the point where she breaks it off. It's counter-intuitive. You'd think that she would pull away more but for some reason she brings you closer to her and then when you mirror her moves and try to get closer to her she pushes you away. This I believe is her non-verbal way of telling you that it's over. So much about the way humans communicate is non-verbal from the days before we had language. So as primitive apes we needed other ways to communicate how we feel.

If a woman is cheating on you and losing attention if you look at her and read her body language and tone of voice you'll notice that she will build up a slow dislike to you. And then suddenly when enough dislike is built up in her emotional system she will dump you in a relatively gentle way. It's almost like she has to convince herself that you're a bad guy and that she's right for cheating on you and dumping you for the next guy. She also has to make sure that the next guy is firmly hooked. She has to justify to her own ego and self-esteem that what she's doing is just. If you pay attention to her behavior and if you've been through enough breakups you can see her doing this and as I mentioned it's mostly non-verbal. She has to lie to herself about just how terrible you are. Sometimes women will lie to the new guy that they are single even when they are in a relationship. And most definitely they will lie to the existing guy until the relationship is finished.

From what I'm reading... it totally depends on how you personally define it. And possibly, the people in US wouldn't consider themselves cheaters at all.

There is NOT an “absolute” definition for what “cheating” is — cheating is different for each different couple.

What “cheating” is DEPENDS on what each couple allows/does not allow to be done with others outside of the couple’s relationship.

Doing ANYTHING with someone outside of a couple’s relationship that is “not ok/not allowed” under that couple’s “relationship agreement/understanding” is “cheating” for that couple.

So: if your “SO” (Significant Other) thinks that you doing something is considered “cheating” then it’s cheating.
