So there's this girl i work with and have been texting for a year and about 4 months ago we began to date. But its not quite that simple. We are really close and into eachother and things escalated to where our feelings for eachother were undeniable, so, i asked her on a date to the cinema and she said "i'll see" which i took as a no. She then went and seen the movie with her parents. She stopped the car on the way home from work a few days later and she asked me if i wanted to go see a film together the following week. I asked if it was as friends or if she was happy to call it our first date and she said date. Then i asked her if she wanted to go shopping and she said its not really her thing, but a few days later she text me to see if i wanted to go shopping. Then i asked her to the beach, she said it was a bit far and then a few days later she picked me up and wanted to go to the beach.
Our relationship quickly developed, she told me her dad hated her ex but he'd like me, she told her mam about me and for a very closed off girl she really opens up with me. Then from stress at work she went distant on me and the more i tried help the more irritated she got with me. We eventually fell out and a friend told me her 2 exs treated her like trash and her friends think she's afraid of her feelings for me but when she becomes uncertain i should give her space and not try to close it. Recently we began to get along again, she's smiling around me, laughing at my jokes and is starting to warm to me again and we've began to text. I asked her if she wanted to chill this week and she started saying "maybe, i could be busy" etc. I know there's not another guy and i know we went distant because she was stressed and i was being smothering etc, but why does she always seem reluctant to do these things mostly unless its her idea or i ask her basically the night before.
For a year we've been super close but once there's commitment she seems almost apprehensive. What should i do?
