How to approach issues in a long distance relationship?

My partner and I have an issue about open relationships. We talked about it for a moment but there’s still unresolved stuff we gotta talk about but we’re unsure on how to go about it. I broke things off but we still want to try and salvage what we have. He knows he has things to work on still and admittedly we jumped into a relationship too fast.

Why are you separated? When will the separation end? It sounds to me that you are not ready to be in an exclusive relationship. That’s fine, you are too young to settle down. Date others so you can make an informed choice.

Pretty much. He has urges more frequently but is too busy to actually act on them. He doesn’t want these urge but can’t help it. He refuses to sleep with a random stranger cause he doesn’t know if they’re clean but will consensually sleep with a friend (yet hasn’t since we’ve been fucking)
