I’ve been talking to this guy for awhile now. There is a bit of distance between us…about an hour and a half so we don’t hang out much. He does go out of his way to contact me and talk to me daily. He pretty much admitted he is nervous to hang out more because he is scared of his feelings, but he wants to keep talking. He had a rough past relationship so how do I handle this situation? I am fine with being patient with him I just don’t wanna screw it up. He really is a good guy but has some emotional damage.
Hold him accountable. Set your own safe boundaries and don't bend them (very important!) He is testing and will test you. Listen to him and speak to his heart. Support him and believe in him.

Communication is Paramount! It's cool you're patient. But your being patient is only half the battle. He has to try heal. No relationship will survive indefinitely without trust.
Ok, then is up to you, just keep encouraging him I know that one day he will want to see you

Figure out and set healthy boundaries with him. Be patient, don’t give or expect too much from him.
Meet him halfway but NO further.
Make sure that he's getting help.
Do NOT enter into a relationship.Be patient and don’t force him to tell you anything.
