What is the point of falling in love for the first time at my age now?

I feel I am stuck with women who have had previous relationships, likely all serious ones, or are married or have kids. I will be stuck with women who have baggage and have loved other guys before from their youth. Many of these women will have been made love to and have made love to other men in their lifetime.

Meanwhile, I am coming in with an almost clean slate, never having had a real girlfriend before. I had sex during a weekend fling over 7 years ago with a stranger who I never saw again after that (except in court, long story).

I don't want to give my heart fully to a woman the first time if she is not doing the same in return. It doesn't feel mutual.

Ok and? You’re not a virgin, you have other issues that will affect your potential relationship. Everyone carries their own baggage, whether it came from a past relationship or not.

If you were a virgin, I’d say your concern could truly be fully warranted. However, since you’re not I think you have to take this with a grain of salt as your slate isn’t completely clean. Regardless, you have to judge if the person you meet is worthy of receiving your attention in that way. If you can’t accept them, what they’ve done, or what they offer isn’t enough…you just have to move on. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees finding the person you’re looking for.

Keep in mind tho, I never had a real girlfriend. I especially never had a romantic bond where me and a girl were both young. I never got to experience young romance. It eats me alive every day.
