Working during honeymoon. Any Big Deal?

I plan to take my laptop with me because I do graphic design works freelance sometimes and I don't want to miss any job.

He said it won't happen as it's vacation. I said It's not like we will be gummed to each other all the time during the honeymoon.

He said if he sets eyes on my Laptop over there he will lock it up in a drawer or something. He doesn't want to see it. And he won't even discuss the topic again.

Please what do I do? I don't want to fight again because of this. I didn't even see it as a big deal when I was mentioning it. Now this.

Clearly he does think it's a big deal. I would advise against working on your honeymoon. Hell - my husband and I didn't even want to bring a phone on ours. We did, of course, but only so we could let our families know we were still alive every few days. 😂

Think of it this way: Will you miss out on jobs by not having your laptop for a week or two? Yeah, probably. But 30 years from now the money you "lost out on" won't matter.

But your husband will always remember that you chose your job over your marriage. And that would be a horrific start to your marriage.

Normal people don't want their spouse to be thinking about work while they're on their honeymoon. After all, you are only supposed to have one honeymoon. Either be considerate or dump him. Your marriage is not going to be a long happy one otherwise.

How long is the honeymoon trip? Do you really think there's significant work you're gonna miss out on, that it's important enough to have to work through this conflict?

I can see where you're both coming from. The work thing is somewhat legit, and maybe you could keep it to a bare minimum... like checking the lappy once in morning and again in evening. But I also get why he'd want to unplug and focus on just being *together*. You only get one honeymoon bruh. At least with him :)

Don’t do work on your honeymoon. That’s time for you too to be together. If you set that habit now, you will keep that going through out. And in this day and age people leave for a lot less. Do yourself a favor and not bring work with you on your vacation. It will be there when you get back. And you will find more jobs. Tons of people need graphic designers

dont start a new life together with an agenda that leaves your spouse out of the decision cycle.
