Question

I (23 F) and B (24 M) were in a relationship. But the relationship was very pleasant and more like best friends than a proper boyfriend and girlfriend. He would understand me and I did too. But for some ethnicity reasons we can't be together. We both knew and still continued. Now that we have broken apart but still we are in contact. I can't help but feel... that I can't leave him like this. He has been one of the most important people in my life and I can't leave him in his misery. Even though we can't be together, I feel like helping him reach his goals and his desires. And I've come to the acceptance that some relationships are meant to stay more like best friends. I know I will feel a tinge of pain if he dates other girls of his community, but it's for his best and his family. I don't know why... But now I am starting to feel like this a lot. Can someone explain.

It is perfectly natural to have those feelings even if you can't be with him. You just care deeply for him and his well-being. There is nothing wrong with it, but it is tough. It is really nice that you have such a good attitude about the situation.

It would be very easy to get upset and be devastated not being able to see a guy that you really care about. You are taking a very mature approach by wanting what is best for him.

It isn't easy. You know that. Those feelings may never fully go away because of your love for him. There is nothing wrong with your remaining close friends. You will have to deal with the heartbreak and possibility of seeing him with other girls.

That is just going to happen at some point. You need to mentally prepare yourself for that if you choose to remain a part of his life and be there to support him

What you feel is empathy and its normal for human beings to feel like that toward humans or injured puppies, embrace your helpful behavior toward others ! But dont forget that you need love and help too, i suggest you open your door for new relationships and he can still be there as a friend, you simply can give without taking right now but once you leave yourself for too long, you will be drained, you need to fulfill your needs of love and affection, so you can give it to others

Its really hard to be away from the person you love and care about. If you keep in touch, you will always be in a dilemma , what if the situation was different and you two could still be together , and thats gonna hurt you more. So its better to move on and forget him. But in my opinion, when two people are in love, they are meant to be together irrespective of their race, community or ethnicity. They have to fight for their love
