I think my partner asked me to marry him just to keep me?

So I think my partner asked me to marry him to sort of lock me in but now we’re engaged he thinks I won’t go anywhere and he can make less effort or do what he wants.

He told me when he has the money he will buy another motorbike (he had to sell his old one) and he’ll probably be out a couple of times a week.

I just said cool! I’ll start going out with my friends again that I’ve sorta put to one side because I feel bad on him (he has no friends really so when I go out he’s alone).

I started up going out once a week now to socialise again and he said he doesn’t like it! He no longer wants us to do our own thing!

Im not going to do that though. I still want to see my friends. I’m wondering how committed he actually is though. Is it possible the engagement is just to lock me in? Been engaged one year so far
