My girlfriend hits me really hard whenever things don’t work her way or she loses an argument. I have never hit her back. Should I hit her back? I tried breaking up, but she always comes back to me crying. She even stalks my location and turns up to my location when we've broken up and won't leave until I agree to get back together with her. What should I do?

Hi all, thanks for all your advice and help. Yesterday I sat her down at her family's house and told her I want to break up and explained all my reasons why, and that I still care for her and hope everything works out for her even though it didn't work out with us.

She then started crying and sobbing, and snatched my house-keys away from me and physically wouldn't let me have them back. When I went to the front door, she blocked the doorway and wouldn't move until I agreed to go back to her.

I can't just end the relationship with a text, that would be pretty harsh after years being together. How should I end it when she won't let me go?

This should not even be up for debate; you need to break up with that psycho and file a restraining order. Next time she is physically or verbally abusive, document it. By any means, do NOT hit her back. She could claim that you were abusive, and all sorts of drama and you do not want to end up in jail over this toxic girlfriend of yours. She is toxic and bad for you on so many levels. You don't live with her, right? If you do, crash at someone else's place for a few days and start looking at assault charges. Go to the cops, you need legal support.

Block her from everywhere, even change your number if you have to. Just get away from this girl before she ruins your life.

Dump her, turn off your location on social media so she can't find you, go and stay at a loved one's place that she doesn't know the location of. Block her everywhere. This can't go on.

Don't hit her back (even though you are well within your rights to) because you will be the one getting into trouble simply because you're the guy. Just tell her it's over. Be strong.

Do NOT hit her back, ever! The reason being is that she can/will immediately run to the police, claiming abuse, and you WILL go to jail. The law is not on your side, in this case.

That's why you need to remove yourself from this situation, because she can & will ruin your life. The restraining order will not only prevent her from stalking you, but it will also protect you, legally, by showing that she has been abusive.

In regards to your update you still need to break up and immediately file a restraining order against her. It's not your job to help her. She needs therapy and that's up to professionals, not you. Do report her next time she gets physical on you. In fact, not allowing you to exit is called false imprisonment; she can get charged for that too.
