Why would a guy not answer yes to being asked if he has a girlfriend when he does?

So my (20sF) boyfriend (20sF) of 2 years says a girl at work has been flirting with him and asking him out, and I guess she ended up asking him if he has a girlfriend. Apparently his response was "I don't date coworkers". I got upset because he could've just said yes, why is he trying to keep me a secret? I told him that it makes him seem like he is single and that she still has a chance if she quits or something. He only responded with saying he does not talk about his private life. How is just saying yes and being truthful talking his private life? Is it nothing I should be worried about if he didn't answer clearly? I guess I don't know how to feel cause he really saw nothing wrong with his response, and now I'm thinking that maybe I'm wrong for being upset

Some people prefer not to reveal such things to co-workers because they like to keep their private life separate from work. Since this girl has been flirting with him, maybe he chose not to tell her about you because she might go stalking your social media and maybe even cause problems. This sadly has unfortunately happened and I'm pretty sure a girl on Gag admitted to stalking the guy she liked social media accounts and his girlfriend social media

Best thing to do is to ask him straight out why he didn't tell her he had a girlfriend but maybe don't jump to the conclusion he is trying to hide you.

Thanks for the reply. I can see how that can be an issue. But I don't think that is the case. I don't have any social media and neither does he. And I know the girls and she does not seem like the type. I'm still on the fence with what to do. I haven't talked to him since I brought it up the initial time.

But even so. People think women aren't capable of abusing men but guess what it has been proven more men experience abuse at the hands of women then women experience abuse at the hands of a guy. My point is just because someone doesn't appear to be the type to do something doesn't mean they won't do it. You don't even know if she is capable of causing problems for him at work either.

Not necessarily. A girl on Gag 2 days ago admitted to stalking the guy she likes social media accounts as well as his girlfriend. She even admitted to sending him a really weird message. Sometimes it's best not tell co-workers who are flirting with you if you are in a relationship or not because some girls turn into stalkers and some even go as far as causing problems within the relationship and at work. He might not have told this worker he had a girlfriend but a least he didn't flirt back and he told her straight up he doesn't date co-workers
