Girls, What does it feel to hear "I love you" from someone you're in love with?

Hi!

Long story short I'm in a relationship with a girl for a quite long time now. I know I love her to death and she does love me too. Yet something inside me is telling me to wait a bit longer to say "I love you" to her. Actually, I also feel like I'm holding a heavy weight in my heart by not telling her, at the same time I want to say it only when I'm 100% sure I'm gonna marry her. I don't want that word to lose its meaning. I mean I'd love to preserve it for one single person in my life if that makes sense.

The funny thing is that she doesn't want to pressure me to say it yet I know she's dying to hear it from me.

So back to the title, I want to know how does it feel to get an "I love you" text from someone you're in love with? How was your response to it the first time hearing it from your SO?

The first time we said it, I was snuggled up next to him, and I said it first. I just very gently said I love you, and he said it back. It felt... Natural. Like that's how things should be. There was not pressure at all. It kind of just came out without thinking.

I will say this: if you're not going to say "I love you" until you know you're marrying her, then tell her that. She might start thinking you don't have those strong feelings for her and question if she should move on, if it goes on for a year or two. You can also say things that are like "I love you", that aren't the same words. My husband says "I adore you" to me. You could say you cherish her too.

I told my husband once that his heart is sacred to me, meaning I'd never want to do anything to hurt him. There are different ways to tell someone you care about them, without saying "I love you".

Nowadays, those 3 words basically have lost all their true meaning because, mainly in the USA and Canada, they are spoken so often and people don't even realize that they are saying it or don't give a thought of the deep meaning of those 3 words.

How many times have you (if you live in the US/Canada) spoken those words to your parents or perhaps even siblings when you leave them in the morning, when you come back in the evening or for any other occasion?

Did you really give a thought about those words or are they coming out just like when you say "bless you" to someone that sneezes. Do you ever think of what the meaning of this "bless you" is or have you given a thought when you say "you're welcome" to someone that says "thank you"?

I honestly believe that those 3 words are overrated and that, deep inside, most of the people don't really mean a single of those words.
