Many users post questions asking "why is it so difficult to find a partner who is loyal?" I think that most people are loyal and cheaters are a minority, but maybe I'm wrong. (I've never cheated but I don't think that makes me an exceptional person.)

So I'm asking a simple question: Have you ever cheated on a partner by engaging in some form of sexual behavior (like fondling, passionate kissing, or something more) with someone other than your partner? This question assumes that you either had an explicit agreement to be monogamous or you knew that your partner expected you to be monogamous. I'm not asking if they cheated on you; I'm asking if you cheated.

Your question assumes cheating as physical sex, but there is emotional cheating too, where no sex is involved or any of that.

I consider cheating anything that the other person would want to hide or be secret about, if they can't be honest with me, then they are doing something that is violating trust.

Isn't trust the biggest problem with cheaters, they violated it and now it is broken?

This is why whatever someone is doing, if their SO is fine with it, regardless of sex or not, then it is not cheating.

I do have different levels though for cheating, sex is level 1, worse of the worst... others are less damaging.

Why bother being in a relationship if you are going to cheat? Just get yourself a friends with benefits or a fuck buddy if that's what you want to do. I can't see any excuse to justify it. Either you are in or you are out. It is that simple.

If you can't freely talk to your partner about what is bothering you where you might be tempted to cheat, then you shouldn't be in a relationship. Communication is vital in the health of your relationship. If you stop talking it will be over pretty quickly.

I have not only never cheated on a partner, I have also never even been tempted to cheat on a partner.

I've had opportunities, even been propositioned, and at no point did I ever hestitate to say "no," or even consider the idea.

I simply will not cheat. Ever. Period.

I'm being honest. In highschool I was kinda in a commited relationship and I knew that wasn't gonna work but I didn't tell the guy about that feeling. Anyway there was a guy whom I had a huge crush on, and he asked me out.. And I kinda said yes. I flirted with him and little bit of fondling. Anyway i broke up with both of them cuz I knew the 1st guy and I won't work and the 2nd guy just not the one. I did forgive myself for that mistake after years of regret. I don't regret breaking up, but I regret flirting and fondling another guy while in a relationship, it was an unfair thing to do (by the way the first guy never found out about the cheating)

But now I'm in serious committed relationship and can't even imagine cheating on him.. i guess when the right person comes you will be loyal, honest no matter what. I will never cheat on him.

I picked 4-6 but one relationship was only a couple months so I wasn't sure whether to call it committed, but I counted it that way since we both would have been disappointed if the other one cheated even though it wasn't that long. I had three relationships that lasted a year or longer. Anyway I have never cheated in my opinion but a "flirt judge" might say I have by going along with flirting that involves guys buying me food and drinks (I didn't do anything, ask for anything or initiate anything and I did mention that I was in a relationship but I didn't cut off the conversation).

I mean, cheaters are a minority, but how much of a minority are we talking about? Minority can be 3%, and minority can be 30%.

I do believe cheating and affairs are more common than we like to believe. And regardless of how many there are, none of them are getting my sympathy.

Not to the point of sexual infidelity, but I admit that I've had emotional affairs with other women, in a moment of distance and conflict with my partner.

I had gotten to the point I was almost going to go on and do the deed with this woman, but I couldn't. So she told me to settle things with my girlfriend first, and then we'd see.

I settled with my girlfriend and as a consequence nothing else happened and I parted ways with the other woman.

Well one girl she actually blocked me and we broke up because she found out I had sex with her little sister which was my fault for texting her from the same number ( idiot ) and she deleted my number out of her sisters phone too

I didn’t think she would ever find out because she hated her family and didn’t really talk to them much I’m so glad I wasn’t there because I knew that was her sister but she didn’t know that I was her sisters boyfriend

The problem is that we don't have an agreed-upon baseline for what constitutes cheating. Some people see porn as cheating, in which case almost everyone has cheated. Some people only consider sex as cheating, so blowjobs, kissing, flirting, etc. don't count. Until we come up with a baseline for cheating, we don't know the exact numbers.
