Should your S/O stand up for you against their Mother?

My boyfriend of 3 1/2 years has a mother who has hated me since I got pregnant last year. After she caused several fights with my boyfriend and I over our baby shower (since she wanted to be in charge and didn’t like anything I picked out), my boyfriend stopped speaking to her for 6 months, but for other reasons, not that I was upset about the baby shower.

When our son was first born she kept saying how I was a whore and was using him for child support money and only had a kid to get assistance. He never defended me. Then, a couple of months ago, she started saying that I was going to kill our dog. He never defended me. Now, just 2 days ago, she called me a selfish human being because I did not pay for our household’s groceries, despite the fact that I only work part-time and have been paying for rent, bills, and other expenses alone since money has been tight with my boyfriend. He never defended me on that either and even apologized to his mom for me not paying for them.

When I asked why he won’t defend me he told me he never will since he does not want to cause any fights with his mom.

Does anyone else experience this or don’t like it?

Your boyfriend needs to get rid of her she's going to be the end of you and your lover's relationship she's doing this on purpose to get you two to break up. She sounds like a complete psycho that just there to cause drama and have full control over someone else's life she sounds like the type of person that has dictated all those around her her whole life. She's most likely jealous of you because you most likely make your boyfriend happy and she can't stand that idea. It's also possible to that her relationship with her husband or boyfriend has went to hell and is enjoying making someone else's life miserable your boyfriend needs to cut her out of both your lives

Sounds like the problem is with his mom rather than with him. Women have had to deal with tough in laws since the dawn of time. Back then, most families stayed together so it was a 24/7 struggle. Take initiative to try to repair your relationship with your in laws. Do something that will create a positive memory with her. Then take a picture or video. Repeat this as many times as you can until you have a 100 positive memories. Then create a big family video and play it for the family.

The more positive memories you can put in her mind, the more difficult it will be for her to get upset with you. It’s just like with your friends. You want to prop up the positive and drown out the negative.

Also, don’t contribute a cent to their bills. You are a mother now and in most parts of the world, that means you are fully taken care of. Value yourself

Sounds like you are stuck with them regardless. Cool calm head is what will get you further. Do not react to taunts. Just let them behave the way they choose while you be the adult.

Mmm I think he should because yeah its his mom but at the same time you're his girl. Like those two should be 1 and 2 in the priority list and she keeps talking shit about you at this point you might have to start saying shit back or tell him you're gonna start saying stuff back if he doesn't handle it cause she's way out of line

So if it really is as described and she just hates you for no reason then I'm sorry to tell you but your husband should grow balls. My mother was like that klsr she raised me but that doesn't give her any right my wife to put down. She then quickly noticed that I haven't heard from her since.

Tell your bum boyfriend to be a man and get a fucking job and help you pay bills like an adult and to stop being his mom's little bitch boy
