How did my father knew my boyfriend (now ex boyfriend) was indeed not the right one?

I've only introduced him to my family 3 times. My father thought there was something off/weird about him. He told that he didn't think he was the one for me and I'm wasting time.

He was right. I ended up spending a year with a man that wouldn't initiate sex nor anything beyond making-out. I thought he was very respectful at first (a sweet, gentleman that doesn't push for sex... really thought I was lucky) but then it really felt weird. When we were breaking-up, it's when he admitted that he wished he was in an permanent romantic relationship without sex included nor the need to procreate and how he's always been different from others.

How did my father knew he was NOT the right one?

Meanwhile he made an impression on my mother and she saw him as a gentleman (taking me out to dates, giving her a gift for her b-day, taking me on a trip once, etc), my father wasn't impressed at all. In his eyes, he was a weirdo and something was just off about him, something just not normal nor right. Wow... he guessed right.

So I don’t see anything wrong with the guy. You two were just not compatible and it seems like you lacked communication on your part along with lacking understanding feelings. Clearly this guy is asexual and you were too busy thinking “how respectful he is not to implode sex on me” but obviously you weren’t asking valuable questions of “when do you expect to have sex in a relationship “ “what is your timeline on when two people should start becoming sexual”. Had you asked these questions, you would’ve most likely gotten your answer a long time ago. So why not value the fact that he thought your personality was so nice that he stayed with you for a year? You have a right to have needs, but he also has a right to be who he wants to be

Yeah I was looking for a serious relationship, progressing to sex then getting married and having kids. You're right I should've asked those question. I was thought that since he was so respectful not pushing for sex that it would be rude on my part to ask that.

@asker asking questions about sex is not being disrespectful. You have needs and sex is one of them. That doesn’t mean you want a hook up, but you want kids. In order for that to happen , you have to have a partner that doesn’t mind sex. Asking questions doesn’t suggest you wanted sex right away. I think it’s just a learning less for next time. Be open, communicate , ask questions. But also, don’t think a man is automatically rotten just because things didn’t work out. He seems like a lovely guy, just not a guy that you were looking for in the end.

There's a saying, "with age comes wisdom." And that's the logic behind lot of the arranged marriages. The older folks have been around the block a couple times and have worn tires, probably blown one or two out, and knows which pot holes to look out for.

Your Dad and probably other Elders saw the same incompatibility. "What do you think?" to an Auntie or someone not directly related and go a long way. I've done that but I am sure she told my Dad, you know. But it is smart to use your resources and see how comfortable your man is to all those family eyes up on him.
