I’m bisexual with a preference for men. So I choose not to date women. I met through a mutual friend, a bisexual woman with a preference for women. Who chooses not to date men. Upon asking for her friendship and making it clear that this was all I wanted, she gave me her number and said that she thinks the best relationships come from friendships and she tried to sit on my lap later. Should I try to be her friend, just hanging out in groups, like my bestie does with straight men pursuing her that she doesn’t like? Or should I just avoid her in future? I know I’m not going to change my mind about her.
Aside from making boundaries clear, there isn't much more you can do in a friendship with her; if you don't trust your friend alone (away from other friends or private) then you probably shouldn't be friends with her.

It depends on your comfort level. If this person doesn't stop pushing boundaries even after you said you want to just be friends then you gotta decided if you're comfortable being around her.

I wouldn't. She clearly wants more. Friends don't sit on your lap.
Sounds hot, can I sit on your lap dressed as a woman?
