This one girl I work with has become very close friends with me. I am married for 6 years. My coworker knows this. Sometimes she is very flirty and she likes to invite me to do things with her and bring me gifts or food at my office. I really like her and she is very sweet. But i feel it is wrong. So I told her we should keep things professional and discontinue any personal contact.
My coworker became really upset and requested a transfer. I still see her at the office sometimes. I wave or smile but she will run away from me. I am sad i cannot have a friendship with her anymore and I miss her.
Did i do the right thing? I feel very bad.

Good for you !! See what a train wreck she would have been to get involved with. Good judgment and decision making o our part. j
Thank you. It felt off so I needed to do something.
You did the right thing. Respect your wife!! Youd hate to have your wife having a work husband. Am I right?
Did my coworker really think id cheat or leave my wife for her?
Well, you like her, you are posting in "Relationship", you miss her... You did the right thing by respecting your wife and keeping things professional but probably your coworker detected you were attracted to her, like we can detect it here too. She will get over it, probably she just had a crush on you and needs to process it. Maybe you led her on? She will survive it.
@quaranta I did reciprocate by buying her things and doing things together outside work. but I always told my wife, who didn't mind, so i kept telling myself my coworker is just my friend.
It just felt wrong so I decided to stop.
Again, you did the right thing
Thank you. Its hard for me but i know it was right
