Is it strange to date your doctor?

I started having issues with my heart around Christmas. I was passing out at work and my work made me go hospital.

I was transferred to a heart specialist and he told me I had a diagnosed heart murmur a that need to come back in for check ups.

Besides being concerned for my health I sound my Dr really cute and sweet. It was nice having a man care for me even if it's his job.

He told me heart would be fine and that I just needed to take it easy one exercise and look after my health better. He also mentioned if I was having any concerns to contact him.

I know what I did was really bad but I pretended I wasn't feeling well again so I could see him. I eventually amitted everything to him and he was really mad at me but said he would actually really like to go on a date with me.

I said he could see it was my apology. After the date, when he dropped me off and he really went for it with the kiss.

The only thing is my ex also lives in the same apartment block as me and I think he saw and now he's not being so civil with me even though we broke up 6 months ago so that's making think maybe I should consider finally moving.

Me and my doctor seem to being getting on really REALLY well if you get my drift but I do feel as if he's going a little too fast. I told him I was thinking of moving and suggested I move him with him.

He said he's almost lonely once he comes back from work and he's really happy with how are relationship is going. The only thing is I really like to but he doesn't turn off his doctor mode he keeps trying to be my doctor in the relationship too.

We've been dating him for a month and a half and everything just seems a little too much.

I've worked in several hospitals and doctors tend to have A LOT of side chicks. They capitalize on something called hypergamy where women are attracted to their position, not necessarily them personally, because of their money. Most have several nurses and patient care techs they are sleeping with, sometimes even at work in the overnight shift rooms that the hospital provides for them to sleep in. Even the medical residents are often sleeping with several different staff members on different days of the week. I have to assume they all know about eachother and are hoping to be the first one to get pregnant.

This is close. Long time ago I dated my urologist when we were in high school. She was 4 years older. Yes she was 18 and I was 14. My girlfriend now doesn't know. But we have an agreement of past is the past.

I wouldn't trust any other urologist. Only one that's held my junk as much as my girlfriend.

Why is that worse that dating someone who you later find out is a Dr. and decides to take you on as his/her patient? If you get sick or hurt, does he/she call your Dr. to come treat you and wait for them to show up to help you instead of dealing with your issues themselves?

You cannot date YOUR doctor, can you? Surely, he needs to refer you to another doctor when he takes you out.

Yes he is transfering me eventually if I decide to move in with him. We didn't go with it straight away just incase we decided to just stay friends and he was scared of his practice thinking he was unprofessional but his work understand about how hard it is meeting people when the job is so demanding

It's also medical malpractice in the United States. Hopefully you've ended your doctor/patient relationship and you're seeing another doctor for health care.

One of my oldest and most trusted friends is a family doctor. He refuses to be my doctor. That’s a professional line he won’t cross. Our relationship compromises a doctor/patient relationship. Makes sense to me.

He will consult with me on medical questions as a friend (always being careful to not be unprofessional regarding my doctors). He once examined me on a camping trip, told me I was OK, then told me to see my doctor when I got home. He doesn’t make a big deal about it, but it’s a hard line. (It’s not like if I ask, “Is Measles a bacteria?” he will say, “I am not your doctor.” He’s just never my doctor.)

That’s a guy who was my friend before med school. Now, imagine what he would say about a young woman who was referred to a heart specialist who was both treating her and dating her. …and keeping it on the downlow so his practice doesn’t “think he is unprofessional.”

okay- he is a doctor and he is concerned about your health. It should be expected so you shouldn;t be surprised. You are over your ex so he should not even be a consideration.

you do realize what he's doing is highly illegal right? and that you're full of fucking shit. i went through the same situation as you with my doctor back in 2015 to 2016 and nothing came of it because of our situation and circumstances involved
