How do children pick people to trust and love?

At work, there is a coworker who always brings her children at work and they seemed to like me the most, always come and hug me and run to me to tell their stories and to share me about their daily lives, sometimes they run so fast to hug me I fall down along with them and they keep kissing my cheeks and hands and telling me they love me. I don’t know how I deserve this love but I feel very happy with it and always try to make them happy and show them affection back.

They start school soon and my coworker moves to another place and will work somewhere else, so I won’t see them again, today when they came to play with my hair and hug me, I got the teary eyes when thinking they are going to leave soon and I won’t see them again.

I hope I showed them some love and I hope they will remember me fondly when they grow up, I just grow so fond of them, how am I going to live my life if I am going to be a crybaby like this?

Children are innocent, they have no form of negativity in their heart so many say they can detect and pick up on things others can't, as the world corrupts them, they lose that ability, so it's why they come up to people that they pick up a good vibe from.

Might it be because other people don’t really have time for them?

I’ve seen other people here just trying to get rid off them and annoyed by them.

For me though, it truly makes me happy and I play with them every now and then when I have time. How can I get annoyed at them when they draw hearts for me, lighten up when they see me, want to spend their time with me and compete with each other to show me their love haha

I mean yea it's all love when they aren't yours but a child is a big responsibility and normally if a parent is doing it right, I'm sure it can lead to frustration, I'm sure when you have a kid of your own and they keep you up at night with the crying or random diaper changes, having the responsibility to teach them the rights and wrongs, disciplining them when they do wrong, tantrums, all that comes like a bundle with a baby, I'm sure they can exhausted someone at some point, I'm just saying tho 🤣🤪😂

Well, yep. But some of the coworkers are single without children, I think the keybto make things less stressful is You gotta play with them.

Lol I'm sure you'll find what's perfect for you, and yea I'm pretty sure there's a secret to parenting, it's to mold their mind when it's forming, as they grow you teach them the rights and wrongs, even if you think they don't understand, if their brain is forming then everything they see and hear will develope with their brain I don't know if im making sense, it's why I think kids grow weird sometimes, they hear and see shit they aren't suppose to see when their brain is developing.

I think that’s something I’ve always done well. When I was 17, my older cousin’s beat friend was already a mom. She had a 3 year old child, when we went to beaches, they went to the sea and I didn’t enjoy swimming that much, so I and the 3 year old girl always stayed at the beach. She was scared of crocodiles, I told her some stories not to worry about the crocodiles and that they don’t live there and even if they do, she’s safe with me. She believed me and she said she was no longer afraid.

Then when her mom wanted to take her to swimming, she refused unless I was also there, so I had to go and swim with her because she trusted me I guess.

So, I wonder why would a child rather trust someone else over parents, that’s dangerous! What if she trusts some not so trustworthy strangers in future.

Children read vibes, she felt like you were a good person, you also sound like you have natural motherly instincts which means when you get your own kid, your mother instincts are gonna be on point, but it can be dangerous if the parents are wreckless.

They must know that you care about them and that’s why they’re so excited to see you. If dogs can pick up on who cares about them kid’s definitely can too.

I feel really happy. Today they were standing in front of me, putting their head my desk, between their hands, looking at me and asking for things. One of them caught a bee as a gift for me haha, I told them to let go.

What a blessing. I'm happy for you. I don't have a good answer for you; I trusted some and kept my distance from others. I was still taken advantage of but the worst ones I was able to avoid. I think having an involved parent helps them feel more confident because most parents will serve as a backup.
