Why do I feel so upset when my boyfriend told me he was a pervert before he met me?

So I'm an innocent girl.. lol and I thought my boyfriend was too because he never talked about overly sexual stuffs to me and because i was his first girlfriend. I feel like he genuinely loves me and is respectful. But once he told me he was a pervert and was overly sexual with girls before he met me, it made me feel like I don't really know him because it made me feel uncomfortable. So I felt upset to the point where I started crying because it made me feel like I couldn't trust him because a man who was or is a pervert is usually a man who only thinks about sex right? What else is he hiding? But he did told me he changed when he met me. So I should feel relieved but I can't help but be upset.. am I overreacting? (Perverts just make me uncomfortable!..)

Sit down with him and tell him that you two need to discuss things and open up more with communication also you don't want him to not open up with communication, and you deserve an explanation of what he means by saying he was at one time a pervert, this could mean anything.
