Why do I feel guilty for telling my boyfriend “I love you”?

I was having sex with my boyfriend last night.. and in the heat of the moment, I told him that I loved him, which I didn’t mean to.. And he asked me “what if I hurt you baby? :/“ I don’t like saying “I love you” freely.. especially in the first few months of being with someone.. but it just slipped out... I wasn’t even thinking about it while we were doing it... and after I told him... I started balling and said I was sorry and I didn’t mean to say it... He wasn’t upset, and told me that I shouldn’t feel guilty for saying that.. He just told me that he doesn’t like saying it freely either.. but doesn’t mean that he doesn’t feel love for his partner (me.).. I still feel guilty for what I said.. I’m really into him and care about him and vice versa...

Honestly this is so sweet. Don't worry about it girl! I am honestly happy for you guys, and that you found someone who takes the concept of "love" as seriously as both of you do! I've seen so many people claiming to love one another off the bat. When one person is "just saying it" and the other actually thinks they mean it, that is where it gets messy. As others have said on here, everyone says a lot of pretty out-of-body things during sex. He understands that so I wouldn't worry about that! On the point of if he actually loves you, give it time. When the timing and place is right (usually not during sex tbh) one of you will say it, AND mean it, and this time, it will feel right.

Oh girl don't worry about it! That's why people say "don't say I love you before, during, or after sex," because it is pretty common. You were probably just enjoying it and you really liked it and you wanted to really express that. It's in the moment type of thing and most people don't mean to say it, even if they do love their partner. Be easy with yourself! And it is good to tell your partner about it but don't stress so much over it because he'll lowkey be turned off even though he's being empathetic! He sounds sweet but just laugh it off. Actually today, when he was leaving, I heard him accidentally say “I love you” under when he was dropping me off at my house after our lunch date. 🤣 Made feel better because I immediately kept asking him “babe did you just say the L word? Omg!! You just said it!! You just said it!!” And he was like “yeah but by accident.. 😳😅 I don’t like saying it randomly.. baby I have to go now.. let’s talk about later but yes I did say it 😳😭💕” He used to be in some pretty abusive relationships in the past.. which is why he has a hard time saying it..
