Hello, I need some help :)

I’ve been in a situationship with this guy who’s my flatmate. Everything was going good BUT 🥲

We were very close to each other, like flirting staff … at some point he started ghosting me, so I did the same. But after that for a few weeks everything went back to normal.

We’re students living in the same uni house so we were going to go back to our houses. He told me that he was going to go home and that he wasn’t coming back anymore ( it’s normal when you don’t have lectures ) and I was going home too, though he knew I was coming back. So we decided to see each other to say goodbye.

That night we had a few drinks so we kissed, came back to my room and we just fell asleep. He knew about my feelings and kept on talking about it the whole night. I was assured because we weren’t going to see each other at all So I literally told him everything I felt, despite knowing he doesn’t want a relationship.

When I came back a month later, I was certain he wasn’t going to be back. A week later he texted me, he was like I might come back for a few weeks, so I think we can still see each other. Honestly at that moment I felt betrayed bcs I thought that he knew he was coming back but lied to me. Coz he had his keys with him. You’re supposed to hand in your keys if your certain that you’re not coming back.

When he came back, I saw him in the kitchen and he was like all smiling and wanted to talk to me, but I decided not to. I answered him a bit coldly and went to my room.
I was behaving coldly towards him every time we would meet, cause I felt really awkward too. But now we both started to ignore each other. Not even saying hi or goodbye. And not texting either.

It’s becoming really suffocating and I don’t know what else to do. I will be living soon, for good and I don’t want us to end things like this. But I’m not sure if texting him is the right thing to do. If he cared as much as I did, he would have texted me first. What should I do?

So in this situation I think a face to face conversation is more fair, either that or say nothing at all. But don’t text, it’s the biggest cop out and depending on the nature of the conversation it can come off as ingeniuine. So put your big girl panties on, pull him aside like an adult and clear the air. Explain your thoughts on the key thing, get his side of it and end things on an amicable note. You two shared some nice times together, and since this started as your fault I think it’s only right for you to make the first move.

I think you should leave things be. Your statement, If he cared as much as I did, he would have texted me first, sounds accurate. If he'd have wanted more than what occurred, he would have proceeded, but, as you stated initially, he said he DID NOT WANT A RELATIONSHIP. So why should you bother with him?

It's a waste of your time. There's other people out there who do want relationships. Invest in them.

Nope, I asked him about it.
He said he kept they keys with him just in case. I asked him if it was possible to get them back once you’ve handed it. He said he still had the keys.

I asked him if he was going to come back and told me no. But says that kept it just in case.
