Does setting boundaries with women actually work? Or has it worked for you?

For example, say she wants to be friends with her ex again and you tell her that's not happening or she can take a hike.
Will she actually respect your boundaries, or will she just pretend to agree and go do it anyway behind your back?

(I'm taking about the type of girl who would think that's ok to begin with. I know all women aren't the same)

So I just talked to her about it, and I have to say she was really cool about it. I may or may not have threatened to kick his ass, and that may or may not have turned her on a little

actually yes, most women do.

asking her to never interact with her ex even when it's unavoidable is wrong, but if you're just asking them not to be friends that's normal. she should respect that and hear you out if you're being reasonable.

He's out of her life, but apparently he keeps asking her to be friends and she said maybe.
Considering the way he treated her and the fact that I know he's just trying to get back with her, I'm not comfortable with them talking at all. I see no reason why she wouldn't put his abusive lazy ass in the rearview mirror

Boundaries should be respected for sure. And why befriend your ex? There's no reason for it. They are an ex for a reason. I would find that behaviour very suspicious if I were you.
