6.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. Time has zero to do with it. Unless you mean time and effort put into a person you've already met. Because I agree then. But you could wait a lifetime for the right person to come along if you aren't putting any effort forth it won't matter. Now if only they made it easier to understand which women are truly worth your effort. I think more guys would be willing to make great effort with women if they had a better idea that they weren't just wasting thier time. I don't think women get that for every one woman that has genuine interest in a guy there's about a dozen other women just playing around with him and leading him on because she just enjoys the attention (Yes I realize some men do this to women to).
Conversely when it comes to women this is the single most baffling thing on this site to me. It amazes me how many women today want to travel at light speed with a guy like he's going to disintegrate or something. I always tell women there's no need to hurry with a guy. Because if he's a decent guy and you make him feel loved, valued, and respected he isn't going anywhere. And if he does go he wasn't a good man and you were never going to keep him anyhow regardless of what you did. So there's no reason to beat yourself up if he leaves.
I can tell you I kind of place people into 2 groups. 1. People I care about deeply 2. Acquaintances. The people in the first group I would go to the ends of the earth for. The people in the second group are just people I associate with. They may think they're my friend, but they're not. And I simply feel no need to tell them otherwise. I do not use them. But they have exhibited enough character flaws that I cannot extend the same kind of commitment that I do to group one.
I guess the point I'm trying to drive home is when you love someone they matter. They matter to you as much as you matter to you. And there is no limit to you. Your patience with them is unending. You can't love with half a heart. You love with your whole heart or not at all.

Really patient. I've been single 23 years. Circumstances I have to deal with. You don't drag someone you love into a bad situation. I think I may have finally found one:)

I have been patient with people in the past and it didn’t work out for me for most of it. Which honestly is ok, we weren’t compatible for whatever reason and it got me to where I am now. If you are waiting for a specific person don’t ignore the other people who may come in and out of your life. The person who makes you happiest is might be there and the one you thought you wanted could have you waiting for a lifetime

11 Reply 784 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Honestly, I have not idea. But I still believe that someday it will just happen, and it will be the best thing ever, and at that time it will all seem totally worth it. With that said, I am 46 so it's kind of messing with me.

+1 yThe concept of patience in love is subjective and can vary from person to person. While it's important to be patient and allow a relationship to develop naturally, it's equally important to set boundaries and have realistic expectations.
1. Building a foundation: Love and meaningful relationships take time to develop. It's essential to invest effort and patience in getting to know someone, building trust, and nurturing a connection.
2. Red flags and deal-breakers: While patience is important, it's equally crucial to be aware of any red flags or deal-breakers that may arise during the process. Trust your instincts and establish boundaries if you encounter behaviors or values that are incompatible with your own.
3. Personal growth: Patience in love shouldn't mean compromising your personal growth and happiness. It's important to continue pursuing your own goals, passions, and interests, as this contributes to your overall well-being.
4. Communication and mutual understanding: Open and honest communication is essential in any relationship. Express your needs, expectations, and concerns, and ensure that you have a mutual understanding with your partner about the pace and direction of the relationship.
5. Self-care and balance: While waiting for love to flourish, make sure to take care of yourself. Focus on self-improvement, engage in activities that bring you joy, and maintain a healthy balance between your personal life and the relationship.
Ultimately, there is no set timeline for love, and the level of patience required will vary from person to person and relationship to relationship. It's important to strike a balance between patience and actively assessing whether the relationship aligns with your needs and values. Trust your instincts, communicate openly, and prioritize your own well-being while nurturing a connection with someone special.

+1 yI met someone 8 months ago. She has a lot on her plate right now. I have seen personality traits in her that are worth waiting for. I will wait as long as it takes.
Of course, time has ways of changing the course of people’s lives. If it never happens between me and her, oh well. But we will happen.
I haven’t dated in the last 2 years since I divorced my ex of 18 years. I don’t date out of fear of being alone anymore. I don’t date just anybody.
This woman I am patiently waiting for; we just crossed paths through her work and over the course of weekly appointments, she really went the distance to get me to notice her. I am no longer in need of those appointments, and I offered to give her my number and she just handed me her phone. I then called my phone. We both now have each others numbers.
Once she has her current personal issues resolved; then she will contact me. I text her sporadically, not in an attempt to converse, but just enough so she knows I haven’t lost faith and to keep her spirits up.
She also has a work friend that got to know me and vetted me out rather well for our mutual friend.
Patients is a virtue as the saying goes.
Good things come to those who wait.
The way I see it, we weren’t out looking for each other. So we are meant to be.10 Reply
+1 yI'll wait up to three months to see if something looks like it'll get serious in a good way. If after three months, I see plenty of reasons for an exit strategy, then rest assured I try to never lose sight of the exit.
And if it looks like a sort of labyrinth where I'm about to be compelled to take my eye off the exit, and would have to tie a long string to the exit so I don't lose my way, then I decide best to bolt and not even bother.
Because the minute I tie a string to find my way back out, some lowlife is gonna cut the string, then bring it to me to taunt me.
Then, it ceases to be a willing visitation. It becomes a hostage situation. And if she insists on being a lure, then I smell a trap.
10 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Well if good things happen to those who wait then I'm about due for something amazing to happen. Cue the back to back lottery wins and playboy models falling from the heavens.
Good things do not happen to those who wait. Time passes by to those who wait.
30 Reply667 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I think its a quote that should be taken with a grain of salt, you have to create an environment for success, a man on couch isn't going to be successful regardless of the patience.
However same man hits the gym, and improves his body and confidence will have better environment for which success "could" happen.
Same man takes his gym results, dresses up, wear alittle cologne, and hits a bar, or goes for a walk in the park looking better than before. This man will have a better environment than the previous two.
So the patience comes from doing the work to improve and get exposure at the same time.
Couch doritos fingers isn't going to have the same environmental success as gym dude or fit well dressed man.00 Reply- 505 opinions shared on Relationships topic.

I won't force it or settle early, but I have no rush.
I don't care if I don't find anyone. Or if I find someone in years. Or months.
I'm just living my life. Cool if someone wants to tag along and share the path.10 Reply 988 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Waiting when it comes to love is a bad idea, well okay it's not like you should ask the girl to marry you on the first date that's crazy behavior. But just sitting doing nothing when there is nothing going on is just a waste.

But it may be too much burn or just too many options that I am not intrested in killing it for me, that I prefer to keep waiting10 Reply
+1 yI'm patient because I never expected love in this world. I accepted feeling lonely and depressed. I appreciate feeling love and being loved as it's a blessing I won't take for granted. Nobody inherently deserves that, so I won't rush. I believe I've met a wonderful person for this time in my live, and I wasn't even anticipating them.
